KENTON - Judge William D. Hart, of the Hardin County Common Pleas Court, General Division, announced today that he has submitted his retirement/resignation paperwork.

His decision to retire with some four years remaining on his current elected term was prompted by the recent legislative changes in the public employees retirement system. To stay in office could financially impact judge Hart's family in the future. The effective date of his retirement will be Jan. 1, 2013. The governor will appoint Hart's replacement after the local republican party makes recommendations to him.
