KENTON - On Wednesday, May 1, beginning at 9 a.m., Hardin Memorial Hospital will be holding its 12th Annual Community Health Fair. This year's event will be held in the Community Building located on the Hardin County Fairgrounds.

Chris Davis, Public Relations Director stated, "The committee decided to hold the health fair in the spring instead of the fall for 2013 to see if we can get more of the community involved. Typically we have around 150 participants in the fall but we would love to see that number grow. We want to do whatever we can to promote our hospital's mission - To improve the health of those we serve."

Many local businesses as well as hospital departments will be on hand to give out information on the following topics: senior services, hospice care, tobacco, diabetes, heart care, hearing, eye care, sleep apnea, cancer, women's health and much more. Adult vaccines will also be provided by the Kenton-Hardin Health Department. The fees of the vaccines will vary and insurances will be accepted.

The free screenings will include blood sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure, sleep disorders, body composition, vision, and vein ultrasounds for abnormalities. Also, the Hardin Memorial Hospital Guild will be offering lunch items for a minimal charge.

The event is free and open to the public with screenings done on a first come first served basis. No appointments are necessary. For additional information contact the Public Relations Department at (419)675-8137.
