Hardin Memorial Hospital Guild planning Community Health Fair

KENTON - President, Mark Seckinger, met with the Guild and discussed the renovation project for the Emergency Department. He stated the project is underway and prep work is being done to the outside including a new Golden Giant building, located on the east parking lot, which will be used for storage. Mr. Seckinger also gave the group an update on physicians.President, Roberta Flinn opened the business meeting with a reading, "Nature's Creed." The secretary's minutes were read and approved as well as the treasurer's report.
Ways and Means chairman, Sharon Good, reported that the Butter Braids will be delivered on Wednesday, April 24 and the ham sale went well. Discussion was held regarding the Spring Luncheon.
Lois Stout, Sewing Unit Leader, reported that her unit continues to make pillows and toys for patients and they go through approximately one box of stuffing per month.
Tray favor unit leader, Shirley Gillen, reported that her group is currently making tray favors for Mother's Day and Father's Day. Memorial Day tray favors are already finished. She stated her unit is completely full. She also reported that her unit made the tray favors for the Spring Luncheon and using Andes mints in the basket was a hit.
Volunteer Coordinator, Chris Davis announced the Volunteer Recognition Luncheon will be on Thursday, April 25, at 11:30 a.m., at the Plaza Inn. She also invited everyone to the learn at lunch session that will be held on Wednesday, April 17, in the McCullough Conference Room entitled, "Stroke: A Treatable Emergency" and to bring unused medications to the Medication Disposal Day scheduled for Saturday, April 27, in Kenton and Ada. Davis stated she has four new volunteers that will be oriented soon.
The next annual educational training for current volunteers is scheduled for May 16, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Discussion was also held in regards to the Annual Community Health Fair coming up on Wednesday, May 1, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Guild will be serving lunch items including vegetable soup, sloppy joe and shredded chicken sandwiches, chips, cookies, water and pop.
President Flinn closed the meeting with a reading, "Spring is a Gift." The next meeting will be held in the McCullough Conference Room on Friday, June 14, beginning at 12:30 p.m.
