LIMA - Local adult volunteers received recognition from Girl Scouts of Western Ohio during a ceremony held on April, 22. This event is held annually to celebrate the commitment, enthusiasm and talents of trained volunteers who provide the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls and build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

A variety of recognitions were presented during the ceremony, including the Volunteer Years of Service Pin, which recognizes a volunteer's years of service to Girl Scouts.

This year, the service pin was presented to Shirley Green, of Hardin County, for her 60 years of service. Shirley has served in a variety of Girl Scout volunteer positions over the years including service team coordinator, troop organizer, trainer and mentor, cookie chair, fall product chair, day camp staff member, event planner and Earth Day Committee member. She currently sits on the Adult Recognitions Committee. Her dedication to Girl Scouting is admirable and her enthusiasm is contagious. They thank Shirley for her 60 years of building girls of courage, confidence, and character.
