HARDIN COUNTY - The second conservation tillage breakfast program for the season will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the Plaza Inn, in Mt. Victory. Heritage Cooperative and FC Stone will present a grain marketing outlook with Cal Whewell, a risk management consultant for FC Stone.

Cal has worked with grain users, producers, and country grain elevators in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, and Ontario.

Grain prices are high right now, but there are a lot of questions about current and future supply and demand, as we have seen much of the central part of the country remains moderately dry to in extreme drought. Current market information should be helpful in planning to market grain already in the bin, or grain to be harvested in 2013.

Each session will begin with buffet breakfast at 7:30 a.m., followed by the program at 8 a.m. The Conservation Tillage Breakfast program series is jointly sponsored by OSU Extension and the Soil and Water Conservation Districts of Hardin, Union, and Logan counties. Breakfast is provided by the generous support of agricultural lenders and agricultural businesses. All events are open to the public and no advance registration is required. Continuing education credits for Certified Crop Advisors will be available.
