Alger woman arrested in Ada stabbing case

ADA - On Sunday, Jan. 20, officers of the Ada Police Department responded to 623 E. North Street, Apartment D, in Ada, on a complaint of a stabbing.
Upon arrival, officers found Brian Lajoie, 28, in his residence. Lajoie called for rescue after having been stabbed near the rear of his shoulder blade stemming from an early morning altercation. He was transported to Lima Memorial Hospital by Ada/Liberty Rescue Squad.On Monday, Jan. 21, officers of the Ada Police Department arrested Mercedes S. Mullins, 21, of Alger, in connection with the stabbing. At this time Mullins is charged with tampering with evidence but further charges are possible. Mullins is being incarcerated at the Multi-County Jail in Marion.
Officers continue their investigation with no other arrests expected.
