Ada Seniors enjoy soup buffet lunch

ADA - Those who attended the recent senior citizen's meeting had a "souper" time. They dined on homemade soups including chicken noodle, made by Terri Conley; vegetable beef, made by Janice Umphress; and corn chowder, made by Judy Magee. There was also an awesome assortment of crackers, chips, veggies, dips & spreads, cookies, and even jello.Looking over the groups' archives was informative and a lot of fun. They learned that Ada Senior Citizens was originally started in 1971. In the 1980's some of the members took a Caribbean cruise. There were pictures of Ohio River boat cruises and trips to Lake Erie. In the past many trips were made possible by the generosity of Ohio Northern University through the donation of use of their buses to the group.
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 12:30 p.m., at the Community Health Professionals building. This meeting will feature Bingo and cards. Prior to the meeting, the group will meet at the SawMill for lunch, at 11:15 a.m. Beginning at 1 p.m., a nurse from Community Health Professionals will be available to trim toe nails. This is a service provided to all area senior citizens by CHP. It is a free service, however, a donation is always appreciated.
