Ada High School senior Mackenzie Fell was named First Runner-up at the recent Ohio’s Homecoming Queen Competition held April 14 in Dayton, Ohio.
To determine the state winner, 23 finalists from across Ohio participated in a selection process that included an essay, professional interview and evening wear competition.
Other local area finalists include Emily Wolery from Shawnee High School and Victoria Albertson from Bath High School.
Local sponsors for Mackenzie included Bass Trucking and Everhart Trucking.
Erica Jones from New Richmond High School was named Ohio’s Homecoming Queen and will compete at the National Finals for the title of America’s Homecoming Queen. If the winner cannot compete, the first runner up will take her place and receive the state crown, scholarship and all expense paid trip to compete in the National Finals in Anaheim, California.
America’s Homecoming Queen is a non-profit organization that promotes education and community service for high school homecoming queens in all fifty states. The organization is committed to developing “leaders of tomorrow” through annual scholarship selections.
