Where were you born?
I was born at Kenton’s Hardin Memorial Hospital, though I spent most of my childhood growing up in Lafayette and attending Allen East Schools.

What brought you to this area? Or kept you here?
Our family is actually building a home in Ada and will soon officially be members of this community, however, I have felt a part of this community for many years. We love this community. Its people are amazing and there’s a tremendous pride in being a Bulldog.

What is your occupation?
I am a principal at Ada Elementary as well as the district Technology Coordinator. I have served as principal for the past 7 years and have been the technology coordinator for all 11 of my years at the school district. Prior to coming to Ada I spent 6.5 years as a teacher at Lima Senior High School teaching technology and business along with coaching football and baseball.

Why do you love what you do?
I love being a principal because I want to make a positive impact on the lives of students and families. This position gives me the opportunity to do that every day. I also love having daily interactions with students – they always brighten my day. Getting a hug or a fist pound from a student is pretty special. I also have an amazing staff that I really enjoy working with every day. They really care about kids and want them to do their very best.

What is your favorite thing about this community?
How close knit it is as well as its values. This is an extremely supportive community, from academics to sports and the arts. There is always something going on and people show up to support it. It’s also unique in that it’s a college town and the school district has some really positive partnerships happening with ONU.

What are you involved with in the community?
I feel like the school system is at the heart of this community. As a leader in the school we’ve developed several partnerships, most recently some new opportunities with ONU and the OSU Extension Office for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). As a parent I love to coach so I’ve had the opportunity to coach all three of my kids in soccer.

What are some of your hobbies?
I love spending time with my family. We do a lot together, like attending Christian music concerts, camping, and going to the movies (we especially like Marvel and Star Wars movies!) I love to read, play golf, and occasionally play video games. I’m a huge Cleveland Browns fan and love to watch them during football season. I started running a few years ago and it has become a hobby too. I’ve completed three half marathons and will compete in my fourth this May.
