BRUNSWICK — The Ada High School Marching Band earned an Excellent rating at the OMEA Marching Band Contest held Friday Nov. 4th at Brunswick Auto Mart Stadium in Brunswick with their Toy Story themed show “To Infinity”.  The production tells the story of galactic space ranger Buzz Lightyear, and takes the audience “To Infinity and Beyond” with selections such “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” and Frank Sinatra’s “Come Fly With Me”, as well as original compositions by director Jonathan Lischak. 
The marching band will travel to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana to participate in the Bands of America Grand National Championship November 10-12th.  They will take the field to perform on Thursday, November 10th at 9:15 a.m.  The Bands of America Grand National Championships is recognized as the premier marching band event in the nation. More than 90 bands from across America compete, including some of the finest, most progressive bands.  The 2016 field competition will feature 90 bands in preliminary competition on Thursday and Friday, with up to 36 bands advancing to semi-finals during the day on Saturday. Twelve bands advance to finals on Saturday evening.  The Bands of America Grand National Championships creates an aura of excellence that fosters healthy competition and student and professional development, all in an atmosphere of celebration for the entire band program, students, teachers, parents and fans.  Performing in their last marching band competition are seniors: Josie Boehm, Eli Garman, Hailey Maier, Meredith Marshall, Libbie Milks, Meredith Morgan and Evan Smittle.  The Ada Music Boosters would like to thank these seniors for their leadership.
